Where We Stop
Port Royal is one stop among several we run on this side of the county. Hardeeville is closer in at 9 miles, Palmetto Bluff sits just 2 miles southeast is 3 miles northwest of Port Royal - so a lot of our routing through here depends on what else is on the board that day. Shell Point, Ridgeland, and Burton all land around the same 17-to-18 mile range from Bluffton, which means a Port Royal call often gets paired with one of those rather than run alone. We mention this because it affects timing more than it affects the work itself: the door in front of us gets fixed the same way regardless of which route got the truck there.
How That Shows Up in the Door
Here's the thing that actually matters for your door: Port Royal's housing skews newer than what we see on a lot of our other stops. The median build year here runs around 2008, a good decade and a half past the 1994 median for the wider service area. That gap changes what breaks and how. You're less likely to be dealing with the hand-wound torsion springs or the single-wall steel panels that show up on older stock - most Port Royal garages went in with factory-balanced torsion systems and insulated sectional doors already standard. What we do see more of out here are opener boards and circuit sensors reaching the end of their rated cycle count, since a door installed in 2008 is now solidly into the age range where openers start acting up before the door itself does. Springs still go, but the common call in a Port Royal garage looks more like a dead opener logic board or a misaligned photo-eye than a sheared cable on a decades-old door.
